New 2022 Ford Bronco Sport for Sale in Patterson, CA

The best of both worlds

Some compact crossover SUVs are designed to stay on the road most of the time, while a few have genuine off-road aspirations, but hardly any manage to do much of a job of being genuinely good in both circumstances. However, the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport is perfectly suited for life on the streets of Patterson, Modesto, Turlock, Tracey and Merced, but it can also be just as happy on mountain trails, in the forest, on the beach or in the snow.

Trim Levels

Even if you're not sure if the Bronco Sport is right for you yet, it's hard not to give Ford considerable credit for coming up with an imaginative lineup of trim levels. Instead of the usual XL, XLE models and so on, the Bronco Sport is available in four different trim levels that are interesting and intriguing as their names. The entry-level version of the 2022 Bronco Sport is called the Bronco Sport Base, and from there, the lineup goes to the Big Bend, Outer Banks and finally to the top-of-the-range Badlands. And if you were still in any doubt about how seriously this sensational crossover SUV takes its off-road capability, remember that there is no such thing as a Bronco Sport that isn't four-wheel-drive.

Engines and performance

There are two engines available in the Bronco Sport lineup for you to choose between. The engine you'll find under the hood of most models is a 1.5-liter turbo-three that develops 181 horsepower and 190 lb.-ft. of torque that gets sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission that every version of the Bronco Sport uses. There are also two four-wheel-drive systems available, and models equipped with the turbo-three get a relatively straightforward four-wheel-drive system with five drive modes of Eco, Normal, Sport, Slippery, and Sand.

To get a more powerful engine and a more advanced four-wheel-drive system with a twin-clutch rear drive unit, you have to go for the range-topping Bronco Sport Badlands. It's certainly worth considering though, as you then get that even more capable 4x4 system and a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine that puts an impressive 245 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque at the Bronco Sport's disposal.

Features and equipment

You'd expect a good helping of features to address the off-road credentials of the Bronco Sport, but that all-important on-road capability is also bolstered by an impressive set of standard and available safety features. Every version comes with active lane control, blind-spot monitors, automatic high beams, and automatic emergency braking, which help the Bronco Sport to a five-star rating for overall safety from the NHTSA and the coveted Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS.

Even the entry-level model comes from the factory with a full complement of power features, cruise control, roof rails, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, climate control, and even a built-in bottle opener located in the hatch.
